Single Molecules to On-Surface Catalysis
■講演概要：
Simple Organic Molecules, albeit their structural simplicity, are a fascinating playground not only for Chemists but also for Surface Physicists. I will present experimental results from Single-Molecule Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Spectroscopy obtained in close collaboration with various Chemistry Groups from the study of such simple organic compounds. In these studies, which are performed on atomically flat surfaces, not only the structure but also electronic and spin properties as well as catalytic reactions are addressed. Thereby, the interaction with the surface plays a crucial role. We will discuss the possibility to create from these molecular building blocks structurally and functionally more complex entities for molecular spintronics.
